Who am I?

I come from the beautiful city of Wrocław and I also studied art history there. However, my passion in life is painting.

The topic of my master's thesis is reflected in my paintings from the Egyptian Cycle, created since 2020. They are based on Egyptian mythology. I had to mature internally as an artist before I started illustrating motifs known to me from my master's degree. Previously, I went through the stage of painting landscapes, in which I feel great, and through the Climate Cycle. the latter coincided with my heavy involvement in the climate movement. It also made me turn formally towards magical realism and symbolism. And then... then came the Egyptian cycle. For the purposes of a new series on my Instagram page, from 2020 I started a series of stories about ancient Egypt, which I include in subsequent stages of creating paintings. In them, I talk mainly about the religion of the ancient Egyptians, which I weave into the contemporary context. In order to create these stories, I had to dust off my master's thesis after a few years. Here they will appear on the blog in a slightly changed form. It is possible that soon I will also explore other mythologies through painting, I am still looking for inspiration.

Style and craftsmanship

actually don't know how to precisely define my style - it is a combination of surrealism, symbolism, impressionism and divisionism. or, in short, fairy-tale-like with dot painting, hence my Spanish name on Instagram and Facebook: "De Lunares" ("with dots"). Nature plays a huge role in my painting, I smuggle it everywhere, because everywhere I see connections between the human world, human spirituality and nature. After all, we are one, and the sense of unity must be accompanied by responsibility,

I am proud of the fact that I prepare all my canvases myself, trying to ensure that they are of excellent quality. I choose the best cotton or linen fabrics and stretch them tightly. then I glue them, prime them... and the painting is ready for painting. Before I start, however, I sketch a picture on a piece of paper based on photos, combining selected motifs so that they match the image that has sprouted in my head. Then I make an acrylic painting sketch, then I put an oil sketch on it and then a final oil layer with details. As you can see, each painting has its own complicated story.
